[REVIEW] Kat Von D Bow n Arrow Look

IMG_1139

I think I’ve mentioned a couple of times before that Kat Von D is one of the western brand that I’m really curious to try. But I was pondering of which product should I try first from them, and when I saw that this set was on sale a couple weeks ago, I decided to give it a go. Moreover, the set consisted of two products that I’m really eager to try from Kat Von D: The Bow n Arrow Everlasting Liquid Lipstick and Ink Liner.

If we had to choose one look to rock every day, this would be it! The Bow N Arrow Look is the ultimate power pair for an unstoppable bold eye and matte nude lip—and it couldn’t be easier to wear! First, wing out the perfect Kat Eye with Ink Liner in “Trooper,” the most saturated black felt-tip liquid liner ever created. Finish the look with a swipe of Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in bestseller “Bow N Arrow,” a matte fawn nude.

Both minis in this travel-friendly duo were made for each other, with true long wear and waterproof, high-pigment formulas that deliver super-intense payoff with every swipe!

I know that Kat Von D’s best selling Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is the Lolita shade. However, since I personally think that orange and terracottas based lipstick never looked flattering on my skin tone, therefore I opted for more neutral nude shade, which is the Bow n Arrow shade.

But sadly, I think this shade is way too cool toned and washed out my skin tone completely. I looked sick whenever I wear it as it is. The shade is pretty similar to NYX Liquid Suede in #Sandstorm, a cool toned nude-brown shade. But, this Bow n Arrow is a little bit darker than #Sandstorm.

Wrong shade aside, I was pleasantly surprised that the formula of this Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is pretty comfortable. Especially when I saw a couple of reviews that it is drying and amongst the OG formula of liquid lipstick, which tends to be on the drying side. I don’t know if they reformulated the formula or something, but, I found that the formula is pretty nice, easy to spread, comfortable, not prone to cracking, and definitely one of my favorite liquid lipstick formula. I think I might consider to try another shade from the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick line.

As for the Ink Liner in “Trooper”, I was honestly not expecting something ground breaking from this eyeliner. I was just hoping that at least it is as good as my Japanese liners. Especially when I tend to prefer brush applicator instead of felt tip applicator when it comes to eyeliner (I just found out that the one that comes with brush applicator is the Tattoo Liner, lol, pardon me).

But I was (again) pleasantly surprised that the eyeliner is pretty comfortable to wear. Not as hard as other felt tip liner, if you know what I meant. Although it’s not as comfortable during application as Japanese brush liners, this eyeliner is pretty descent for me. And it’s also pretty easy to control, and I love how jet black the “Trooper” shade. However, I don’t know if it’s because of the sample size or something, but I found that the applicator is way too small for my liking. I takes a while to draw my cat liners with this one.

Well, all in all I think this set is worth the price and pretty good for sampling Kat Von D‘s most best selling products. Although both of the products aren’t my favorites if I’m going to compare it to my entire makeup collection, I still think that both the Bow n Arrow Everlasting Liquid Lipstick and Ink Liner in “Trooper” is a pretty descent product, and make me want to venture further into Kat Von D’s other products. I would like to try other shades of Everlasting Liquid Lipstick and her eyeshadow palettes in the future.
